Hey all....I drove my car all day two days ago with no issues....cleaned it yesterday. ..wanted to drive it today and when I turn the key nothing happens. Gauges dont move, electric fuel pump doesnt come on....nothing. I am running the original flathead with 6v system.
Thoughts as to where to start?

You will need a multimeter, but start with the battery, check for 6 volts.
check continuity from positive to frame (I would say ground but it is positive ground)
then put a probe on the negative and check the terminals on the ignition, one of them should have 6 volts.
Turn the key and check the terminals on the ignition, now two should have 6 volts

basically just walk it from the battery on out. If everything is down, it is either battery, ground, or the ignition itselft, otherwise some things would work.

You can can also try turning on headlights, if they work, it is the Ignition.

Could be just a dead battery. I've had a couple of them fail on me where they go from working fine to completely dead instantly. If it's more than a few years old, you might just swap it out.

Thanks guys - had battery checked yesterday and it was drained. they charged it for me and she fired right up but the battery gauge on the dash pointed way more towards CHARGE, especially with acceleration...it has never done this before. I tried starting it this morning and she was totally dead....no head lights, no electric fuel pump, no gauges moving at all. I cleaned the terminals, checked ground wire from positive terminal to the block and it is clean ( I didn't take it apart and clean in it, so that's something easy I can do). I can get a multimeter, thats not a problem, but I am concerned that i really dont know a whole lot about the electrical stuff....so i am almost considering letting someone with more experience look at it than myself. I apologize for starting another thread about this but I appreciate any help.

I am running a generator. I bought the car 6 months ago from the owners son (as the owner passed away) and he said the battery was "newer" whatever that means. Its just strange that all of this happened out of nowhere...

  9. Hot weather will kill a old battery,is there no date code on it?

and is the car still 6 volt? HRP

Regulator . The field coil will drain your battery if the cut out is pooched.
