Now before you guys hammer me...I have not done much wiring so, go easy. American American Autowiring kit... highway 15 to a speedway to a speedway turn signal switch. This what I know.... AA15 lights/what it does Indicator Switch yellow lr dk blue dk green rr blk dk blue rf lt blue lt blue lf green white stop switch orange purple key switch hot red? labled flasher L Brwn hazard/not in play blk horn relay/not in play labeled flasher p yellow? I have led rear lights and regular front indicators l&r. No parking lights, by choice. No hazards. I put an led flasher in. Now, all work but, not properly. Brakes lights work, running lights work. Problem indicators shut brake light off depending on right or left selected. Flasher buzzes but, does not flash light. What am I missing? I also know there are other threads, that I have a hard time following. Thanks
Does the brake light opposite the turn signal selected go off? Or does the opposite brake light stay lit and the turn signal selected go off? The other thing that needs to be mentioned is that the flasher needs to be grounded if it has a pigtail.
This may not solve your issued but will sure help identify which wire goes where. You do not need and LED flasher unit as the front regular bulbs draw enough to make the rear LED work. I am a wiring num nuts but it could be the LEd flasher causing an issue. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/threads/turn-signal-wiring-how-to.869492
Not enough amp draw from led lights will cause flasher problems. Change your flasher to l.e.d. friendly or if possible put in 1157 to test.
NO. With brakes applied, Select right...right brake light goes off. Flasher which is LED type with extra wire starts buzzing.
The turn signal switch is doing exactly what it is suppose to do, switch to turn signal circuitry. With that clarified, your flasher is the culprit. If it has a pigtail, the pigtail MUST be grounded.
