Hambers, In August of 1960 going away to school, I sold my first car, a 29 roadster, for something "more practical". Now, some 52 years later, I found a picture of it on the HAMB, posted in 2008. I'm trying to contact Cut55, the posting member, but no luck yet. If anyone has any knowledge of the car or leads on it's whereabouts, I'd be deeply appreciative of ANY information on it. Many thanks, Hemi 325 Steve Steers ssteers323@gmail.com
Thanks, Mitchell, When I sold it it was flathead powered, had almost no upholstery, no trunk floor, scrubby paint. A year later the new owner painted and upholstered it, put those flared up fenders on, did a bunch of chrome work and installed a 241 or 270 Dodge hemi. When sold, it looked like that avatar picture.
HotRodPrimer, Thanks for his first name.....it's a start. I also notice he hasn't posted for about 7 months. He (Cut55) was very active on the HAMB for a long time. He posted the pictures of the roadster in 2008. They look like they were from a magazine. Maybe there was an owners name accompanying the pics in the article, which was probably dated about 1961 or 62. If anyone reading knows Cut55 and would ask him to send me a mail, ssteers323@gmail.com, there'd be one happy old man on this end of the line. BTW, the roadster in the avatar picture here is what I sold the 1960 buyer, flippers, portawalls and all. $550., and I drove it over to his place by Sacramento. Keep those posts coming. It's got to be somewhere out there! Thanks, all. Steve
Did you try sending him a PM? Even if he has not logged in for a long time, as long as he has the same email address the site should send him an email that he has a message if you send him one.
Toner283, thanks. I did send him a PM or Start a Conversation, which is what they're called now I think but haven't heard anything. What I need is his email address to contact him directly......or have someone who knows him give him my email and he can contact me. I'm ssteers323@gmail.com.
Jalopy Joker, I'd love to own it again. I sold it to Fred Sorenson, Dixon, CA, an Altered and I just learned, Bonneville racer. If you are from the area and know any of Fred's family, I'd like to talk with them about what they remember of the car. All leads appreciated.
