Funny that 200 plus people shell out 20 bucks a pop to hang out in a cop shop parking lot for a few hours in fucking Sante Fe Springs for the Mooneyes Christmas show. But bitch about 20 bucks for a car show in one of the top party citys in the world. Sure rockabilly musics not for everyone..But gambling drinking and strippers sure are
"Sure rockabilly musics not for everyone..But gambling drinking and strippers sure are" strippers.....or stripers? and vlv hasn't turned in to a "scene thing" ...it allways has been. what do you think vlv weekender means?!?
After 14 hours at work yesterday I guess both.. If you have a spelling bee this year Axle I will have to jump on the anti car show band wagon......LMAO
I don't see anywhere, and correct me if I'm wrong Axle, that people arriving Friday will be prevented from parking together on the roof or in another part of the lot----it is a public parking area for the hotel. It's not like people are being asked to stay off the property until Saturday. People get all worked up over any changes to their routine----geez, it's still one of the best single day car shows around. Marcy
Will full frontal nudity be allowed again this year, or is that reserved exclusively for the hot tubs at the Rio?
ha ha ha ha...you're crazy! thats right,if you get there early you can park anywhere in las vegas you want....just not the show area that will be fenced off . if you have a wristband you can get in the show area earlier. note: to those that want to get there early but are there just for saturday be very carefull of having pre parties in other area's of the gold coasts parking lots. they might consider that loitering. not trying to be a party pooper just trying to prevent any problems from occuring. axle
We will be there on Wednesday! I don't care what anyone says, VLV is the best event all year. It is a great way to meet new people, see old friends, listen to great music, pick up some cool threads, see some wild cars, look at amazingly attractive people, and have a fun weekend full of drunken debauchery. I personally am glad that there will be some restrictions this year. Being a small girl, it is intimidating when car "gangs" show up and pull their macho man bullshit. And it is also scary when drunk people get in fast cars and act like idiots. I do have a question, though, Axle. Jonah and I bought wristbands and we have a car that we are bringing that I registered when I got the wristbands. The registration form asked for the license #, but this is a crazy gasser and will not have a license plate (it is far from street legal, it was built to race). Anyhow, I am positive that our car will not be mixed up with others. I doubt there will be any other wild 38 Bantam gassers. So is it ok that we don't have a license plate to register? Just making sure...I would hate to get all the way there from Washington and be turned away...
Fantastic! I can't wait. And don't listen to any of the negative crap (especially from people who have never even been there). The Vegas Weekender is obviously a success or people wouldn't go to it. I think you guys have done a great job and I am greatful to you for making such a fun time for me and mine. See you there!!
I'm with axle on that one... i really feel old cars and old music go hand in hand. I do realize however that some people are into the cars more then old music.. or vice versa... but i think it's safe to say that since this is called "viva las vegas ROCKABILLY weekender" that ROCKABILLY has something to do with it. The way i see it.. if people hadn't acted like this show was a free for all and rules and laws didn't apply because you were in vegas.. all of this wouldn't have to apply. The problem is you have to many people with too little respect for others and what they do. Alot of people worked really hard to put this whole show together.. so what needs to be done is to show respect for the work that they do, so that we can come and have a good time.. and by a good time that's not.. throwing beer bottles at people.. starting fights.. talking trash about other people and the list goes on... it's supposed to be a good time.. i haven't ever seen the bands yet and i've been up 4 times.. i've always wanted too but just figured i'd save the money.. im kinda glad to get the wrist band this year.. so i can see all the fine talent that has been there for years.. and get more enjoyment out of my time there.. I got one of my good friends into hot rods and he's more into punk rock / emo / indie music then rockabilly.. but when we cruze in my ride he knows thats what i like and respects it, and heck he's even had me burn him a couple of CD's because he's starting to like it.. it's not his favorite thing but he does dig some of it.. i just think it's all a matter of respect that people lack now a days which unfortunately has everyone bitching at everyone else over who is better or who's opinion is right..... lets just say that we should all thank axle for working his tail off to keep this thing alive so we can go up and have a good time.. while the whole weekend he's running around like a chicken with his head cut off and keep everything running smooth.. so we can all go up there and party and have fun.. let alone to think what he's had to do up to this point to get everything running smoothly.. so i'm throwing mad props to Axle & the Shifters for their hard work, dedication and love of this crazy lifestyle we all love! Thanks man..... much respect and admiration man!!!
Note to self....No more streaking the Goldcoast Ballroom. That was not appropriate. Hats off to Axle & the Shifters for putting on an absolutely amazing car show! It gets better every year and can't wait to see the crazy rides! Ginger www.pistonpackinmamas.com
