    i dunno cheating or not thats still a beautiful piece of machinery and for that price id probably cheat too, so i ordered a set of sanderson block huggers from summit for a falcon that there 95% sure will fit just right (im assuming with proper use of the 5lb hammer and some linkage "adjustment") and i managed to find this little bit of new used stuff the other day...no more point filing for me

    =============

    Makes the commonly heard SBC tale of "it's a Vette motor" mighty pale in comparison, unless of course the Bill of Sale was signed by Zora Arkus-Duntov hisself.

    Just out of curiosity what size carb did you decide on running? Did you find a set of shorty headers to run?

    I currently have a 63 260 from a falcon and a t-10 5spd. was running. I was trying to find more information on the stroker information. there was discussion that the blocked had to be knotched or what not to make the crank and rods work. I also heard there was a write up online about that stroker motor. do you have a link you can point me in that direction. I am trying to build one for my 64 flacon

  5. No notching should be needed for a 302 crank swap, just custom pistons. Notching for rod clearance will be needed for any stroker crank, slightly more than what would be needed for a 289/302 block. Make sure you get a 28oz balance crank, the later crank needs a different flywheel and front damper and will make life difficult trying to fit the front pulleys.

    Keep in mind that this isn't a 'budget build' and there won't be a 'kit' available. The custom pistons needed will add at least $4-500 to costs over a comparable 289/302. To get the most out of this stroker, you'll need different heads or bigger valves in your stock heads. In terms of economics, it will probably be as cheap to simply swap for a later 289/302 with a six-bolt block and swap to the later bellhousing and T10 trans case. But if you want to pursue this, find a Ford-savvy machine shop or try calling one of the Ford specialty suppliers. Probe industries or Coast High Performance are two that come to mind...
