I have a 1949 chevy 6400 with a 235 out of a 57. Been working on it for awhile its new daily driver. Still have some rewiring to do but not much. I just wanted to show some pics of it. I do need to make a new throttle rod to the carb, any suggestions? Was thinking of using either copper tube or aluminium tube.
That's a biggun! Nice clean work horse, its a five window and its been treated well, whats not to like... I suppose since either would work for the throttle rod if its a pull type (in tension) rod, I wouldn't use copper or aluminum if its in compression as it may bend at the worst time.
Thats a nice driver. Daily Driver, I'd love a DD like that. Copper would look *****en but will fail at the worst time. Steel brake line is your best bet. I had a '46 Military truck once and the throttle was a straight shot from foot to linkage. I used a curtain rod. It actually worked so well, I left it.
I'll probably hit the junkyard later and see what i come up with. And yea its a solid runner, im the 3rd owner. Before me it was on two different farms and they both took really good care of it.
