We are at the stage of refitting the side roll up gl*** to our chopped 49 shoebox coupe. Just planning if the stainless trim with the felt goes in first before the roll up window or does the gl*** go in then the stainless trim last?

On my '59 Ford, all of the stainless and channel went in first. Do you have the shop manual for your Ford? That may offer some insight.

A few ch***is and mechanical books but unfortunately no shop manual. Just wondering if it would make the install procedure easier or harder if stainless trim went in first.

You probably have the rigid channel that goes in with the vent windows. No way that's going in after the big gl*** is in. I would definitely do all the window channels and stainless first. You may want to ask around at The Ford Barn's forum.

I put the stainless and the channel in first on my 50. It was a few years ago but I think I had to loosen up the lower mount for the vent window and channel to get the window into the tracks.

    Do as Buz suggest.

I put the stainless and fuzzies on the door first, then the gl*** , then the inner garnish mouldings with the inner fuzzies. I don't know if that's the Ford approved method, but it worked for me !

Sometimes you can get the outer fuzzy strip in by just rolling the window down.
