Ran my heater outta propane. Ran my mig outta gas. Got propane. No welding supplies stores open Sat or Sun. Steering box bearings were wrong...go fish. Sooo....I cut all the parts for my passenger seat bracket. Cleaned the Beater up a little in anticipation for Autorama. HAd a great time at the GMB/Nightmares lunch. Lots of good people swappin' stories and parts.
Confuscious say "weld gas run out when weld store not open" I think I should open a welding supply store and my hours would only be 6-9 m-f and 8-8 on sat. sun. I'd make a killing! Didn't do shit on the car but got my schwin "whizzer" running and a $36 yamaha three wheeler (caught fire ) running again (new tow vehicle)!
Fitted the Haneline dash panel and Wings gauges to the 32 shape dash in my 1927 T Model Ford. I also made a bell shaped stainless steel shroud for the top of the s/s Land Rover column. This will go under the 4 spoke sprint wheel (the one on there now is just for moving the car around). I'd like to tell you how I hammer-formed it in two halves and then welded it together and then metal-finished the join before linishing and mirror polishing. I'd like to but I can't - the truth is that it's an olive oil can that just happens to fit very nicely.
hmmm let me see, i went out and got a new backpack and more school supplies. class starts on monday and im really not looking forward to waking up at 5am and getting home at 11pm from monday through thursday. between school, work and trying to find time to sleep im going to have to get to crackin' on installing the bags on my plymouth. my lifes going to be a riot for the next four months...
Got a late start, due to a coffee drinkin' bullshit session...then off to the barn in the middle of nowhere...finished up the block prep on the 302, weighed all the stuff & got started on the balance....got it to .01 /.01 .... wasn't good enough. Hindsight being what it is i should quit there................didnt. Spent the next 30 minutes chasing 2 tenths of a gram...... And drank Beer
fixed the gen. pully on the 39 sedan, had breakfast with the houston roadster bunch, and help my dad pull the motor and trans out of his roadster.made it home in time to spend time with the lovely wife.(so i can play another day.) -danny
Shit I guess it fits nicely. The Raven and KCMongo came over and we moved the roadster into the closet, uh garage. This was after a feverish cleaning and trash collecting in the garage to make room for it. I think someone took pictures, but I didn't. After everyone was gone, Mrs Beaner brought a fan out and put it in front of the body, then we climbed in and made car noises and pretended we were cruising. I'm gonna have to get a bigger fan. The I turned the fan off and plugged Dylan into the boom box and climbed back in, who says its the journey, its the destination baby. We looked at a house with a real garage, the ad said 4 car, its about 20x50 I think I get more than 4 cars in it.
Didn't get to work on the cars, but I did paint a trash can for my office. Auto air colors , dark metallic blue and top is Silver flake.
i got one leaf spring dearched and a couple of holes patched and the shop clean enuff to bs in since the boys were coming ove to but the front clip back on then we didnt but it on.
Got the M/C mount completed for the hydraulic conversion on my '34... http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?p=1110562#post1110562
I cut the rear floor for the Bantam, mocked up some mounts, but generally S.F.A. Family stuff occupied most of the weekend.... Oh, and shovelled up the new 8 inches of snow from Sat. night Flatman
I got a ton of crap done this weekend. The wife was sick so I had a lok of time to work with. Put disk brakes on the front of my 52'. Cleaned the garage also reordinized most everything. Started pulling the engine from my barracuda, to install the bellhousing that I also welded up this weekend. For me that's alot!
..........moved about two tons of this shit out of our driveway! (well, actually, my wonderful neighbor John moved most of it with his snowblower. God bless him!)
