I took a cruise over to see my buddy Epp last week to check out the progress on the "Epppster Tub". He has been fighting a serious back problem and working in his shop during the this past super hot summer has been almost impossible for him. He has managed to get the left side of the body, floor, door and rocker panel done. His plan is to get back to work on the tub now that the weather has cooled and his back feels better.
A friend not a member of the HAMB wanted to see this older thread so I said I would try to bump it. He couldn't get on the search page.
Looks even better in person, I've been poking my head into Epp's shop every once in a while to check the progress and I've gotta say it's gonna be sharp. Definitely seems to be hitting that early 60's vibe right on the head. Looking forward to seeing it blast down the road
chubbie stopped in today- worst case of cabin fever that I've ever seen,ha !!! We spent about two hours rehashing the past and never did get to fixing the worlds problems !?! He did get me inspired enough that I think I'm going to test my back and get out to the shop and start working again. Thanks' chubbie !
Glad to hear it I mean the front looks good poking out of the garage and all but this summer you need to be showing people the tail lights
where were you Tim?? it was almost a real good time just think if you would of been there berma shave
Haha, I keep seeing those signs around lately. I was stuck at work today but I'm in town -hawarden- a couple times a month maybe next time
The wheels are turnin now. Nice tub. I like what your doing. I may do something similar. berma shave hhahaha
I stopped yesterday to check up on the eppster hot tub. Look'n good, tho not ready for a road trip......
It's been a while since I updated this thread. The sheet metal work is now done on the body. The frame is finished and the engine and trans have been rebuilt. the engine is a Power Pack 283 with new pistons, bearings, new valves, seats and a Duntov 097 solid lifter cam. We ran the engine on an engine test stand last Sept and the sound of a 097 and solids is music to us old timers ears.
Headed that way in the am might have to swing by and see if he's around Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
This is taking a lot longer then I hoped. Had some medical problems , had to have the nerves lasered off my lower back so I could get around and , after that I had to have my Gallblader taken out. Now I'm getting along pretty good so I hope that I can get it on the street sometime this coming summer. CJS's help and enthusiasm really keeps me going. When you think of true friends he really rises to the top !!!
If you need some help or just some imorral support. any day give me a call. I love to listen to the storys you old guys tell about the "OLD DAYS"
I just got back from a visit to Epp. He has most of the body work done, just primer, sanding and paint. Then back on the ch***is for wiring and re***embling. He's shooting for a Labor Day cruise.
I see Curt put up the pictures that he's been taking the last couple weeks. We're finishing the wiring ,brakes and steering then on to the interior. Never did a interior before so it should be interesting.
