On my 52'' the original ones are just " round " ...on the 55 and up they are angeled forward , see the photos and I think you will understand....sorry for the ****py English , im a Norwegian :)

This is my car, you see the trim rings :

I don't think they will fit. The 55 rings are actually oval shaped rather than round.

52/53 Ford are slightly oval too.. Mercs are round but 52 53 Ford have a pit of a peak.. 54 Fords would be a bit better but they have a peak on the side which would have to be dealt with.

Well they may not bolt on but they can "fit" if you want to make them fit.

Hi guys , thanks for the answers...I think i'll just get a pair and just get them to fit...easier to see exactly how much work that needs to be done when you have the parts in your hand :)

Hehe thank you - this car was actually built by " mikeyjoe " on this forum ( he's from Detroit ) for some years ago - I have had it for 3 years now and I have done much with it , and still more to come ;)

"ragtop" and "fordsbyjay" are right, a little finesse and they will work

I thought about doing this to my '54. I'm sure what I found could be applied to '52-'53 as well. On the '54 rings the headlight sits almost in the middle of the ring. The bottom of the ring is about 1/2" thick and the top is just over 1". With the '55 headlight rings the headlight sits much lower in the ring, making the overall shape more oval than the '54. The top is quite a bit thicker. I think it's about 2.5" at the top. So you would have to reshape more than half of the opening to make it work and bring the headlight lower in the fender. On the '54 you would run into an issue with the grill opening trim. You'd have to lower it or remove it in order to be able to mount the headlight ring.

The image below shows the shape of the '55 rings that I am talking about. 1955 Ford Headlight Bezels 1.JPG
