I've been lurking in the shadows a while now and thought I would introduce myself. At 42, I'm an old hand at musclecars, but am pretty green when it comes to traditional hot rods. Please be patient with me. I stumbled into a 31 Model A coupe body for next to nothing, and I have been gathering parts for a couple of years, now. I also have a 23 T-bucket body and frame waiting it's turn. The swap meets have been kind to me, so far, and I have met a lot of knowledgeable guys who have been very helpful, along the way. I'm a pretty fair fabricator and I work in a Tulsa, machine shop which will certainly help things along. I look forward to meeting some of you in the future, and I would welcome any insight or advice you might have for me. If anybody needs any custom machine work done, give me a yell. See you 'round the board.
Welcom to the board man, I'm also a tulsa native if you didn't gather that from my screen name. Anyhow, I am in the begining stages of a 23 track buildup myself. Would dlove to get together and see what direction you plan on taking yours. I also have model a fever, so if you ever need a helping hand, please do not hessitate to ask.
Thanks T-Town. I may just have to take you up on that offer. I know I still have some chassis issues to deal with on the 31. It has an S-10 rear, a 34(?) Chevy front axle, and an sbc with a T-5 tranny. I almost went 700r4, but decided a real hotrod should have a clutch. I just need to get it all to come together in a DRIVEABLE package. The frame rolls already but has those "Oakwood" rear springs that are a bit stiff for cruising.
welcome. I work in tulsa, as well. ok, now for the pitch.........I may have some machine work needed.
Welcome Bone, from OKC. The more Okies around here, the merrier. We may start to rival the Texans and left coasters one of these days.
Thanks, Guys. I hope I can be a productive member of the group. I love a good rivalry. Seriously though, I just want to be able to get my projects together sometime before retirement. My 10 year old daughter is already trying to lay claim to the 31, and it isn't anywhere near completion yet. I need to get some digital pics so I can post em up. Maybe I can get that done before this weekend. I still have a long way to go, and know I will need some guidance from time to time. Sarge... Shoot me an email about whatever you are needing machined up. We have the usual capabilities found in most job shops. Lathe, mill, drill, CNC mill, broach, surface grinder, press, etc. My addy is CamaroDoc@yahoo.com
