I am surprised that I haven't seen any Aussie 40 Convertibles on here, I just bought this one about 6 weeks ago, I have changed the wheel covers and have a set of top irons and window frames coming from the USA

in one of the shows about Junior Johnson, he said the fastest car he ever drove was a 40 Ford shine car. that's saying a lot considering all he drove at NASCAR>

How about some Utes for a Thursday? Love this Aussie variation, would swap my coupe for one if given the chance. I know one of the them is a '39, not a '40 but who cares, they are beautiful examples.

Gene Sonnen posted this on FB tonight. Cool reflection of his (?) coupe in the trunk of a sedan. Love that Porky's plate topper!! Cruised there in the 70s when we lived in Red Wing. I think it is gone now as most good things from my youth are.

Dave, looks like your car made it home in great shape. You have one fine looking '40. I enjoyed talking to you in Louisville!!!

My dad is the one who bought the flamed forty from Barry in the early 70's when he built it. The group with Barry could not believe he would sell it until my dad made my brother and I sit down on the bed in is room and took our shoes and socks off. We had the 4700.00 dollars taped to the bottom of our feet. image.jpg image.jpg

One of my all time favorites, and the main influence on the direction I am taking with my '39...no lakes pipes though...

Another one that really blows my skirt up. Mike Moores '40 convert. The hood peak on this car is perfection, love the subtly radiused fenders too.

This weekend, the "Birthplace of Route 66 Festival" has been going on here in Springfield, MO. My buddy, Cal Busse, took this photo of my '40 stake truck down at the event.

The black & silver two-tone are really flattering on the '40 PU. I think it improves the proportions greatly over the usual solid color.

  20. Speaking of Junior Johnson, I had the pleasure of meeting him at the local "Man Show", where he made an appearance to promote his Midnight Moonshine. The show promoter asked if he could "borrow" the '40 stake truck to be part of the display.

I asked Junior if he wanted me to fire it up for him, and his reply was something like, "Nah, that's ok. I know what them flatheads sound like."

  21. I guess I'm pointing out the obvious but this ad that was posted is a 39 Ford convertible. HRP

  24. Before I was bit by the Deuce bug I had a plethora of 1940 Fords.

I love them and have owned 2 sedans,3 coupes, a pickup and wanted a 40 convertible but ended up with a 39 convertible.

BTW,I caught wind of a 40 4 door sedan that I am trying to get the details,I was told it's all original and running and the price seems right,I'll let you know if I am able to make a deal. HRP
