I know I've been lucky before about getting the right application for a TransDapt part numbers so I'm going to try again with another number. It is: TD-5-25 Any help always appreciated. Thanks! Tom
This plate allows you to install a GM Muncie 4 speed transmission with floor shifter to your stock F100 bell housing if you had the light duty 3 speed column shift transmission. (This may also work with the car bell housing but I am not sure about that.) Trans Dapt part number TD 525. Made in USA. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Muncie-4-sp...D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557
Thanks 2racer for the fast response. I've attached a couple of pictures of the adapter I have. What do you think? Tom
looks like distorted fisheye-lens pics...but, the patterns sure look like was said. the way one pattern is not threaded, is the pattern of the bellhousing, and that tall narrow pattern is often called 49-up Ford car (and perhaps small trucks). That pattern was last used on 4 speed muscle car, like the 63-64 Galaxie and even a very few early "built in 64" Mustangs the other pattern with all 4 holes threaded, would be the transmission it adapts to; The trans pattern looks like Chevy 3 and 4 speed..but the center hole just seems a bit large to me, and if so, that bigger hole would mean truck trans. I could be wrong in seeing a bigger hole, though For some reason, I think Transdapt did a lot of truck swaps?? .
Thanks for your input F&J. Does anyone have an old TransDapt catalog to cross reference the Part Number? TD-5-25 The number 2racer referenced above was a complete bell housing as opposed to the one I have that is a machined aluminum plate. Sorry about the fish-eye picture. It looked good before I transferred it.
in transdapt land, 5 is the number for a Ford transmission as noted above, and 25 is the number for a chevy car transmission, as noted above. So it looks like an adapter to adapt a Ford to a Chevy. Which you can tell by looking at it, if you worked in a junkyard or a transmission shop 35 years ago. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/threads/tech-transdapt-adapter-numbers.78455/
