Is there a wiring diagram available for the ranch wagon available? I need to rewire all or most of my project.
If you are doing a total re-wire and using a kit the diagram won't be a big help because they eliminate a lot of excess wiring and make it more basic. This book will be a big help: http://www.speedwaymotors.com/Book-How-To-Wire-Your-Street-Rod,2824.html If you use a one wire alternator it also saves a lot of wiring clutter,a lot of the guys here used the Rebel wire 9+3 kit. http://rebelwire.com/rebel-wire-products.php?cat=Wire Kits If you order from them tell them you are a HAMB member. If you are adding some additional upgrades be sure to add relays to your plans read this : http://www.watsons-streetworks.com/tips Click on "a current topic" one common complaint is dim headlights the stock wiring does not play nice with today's Halogen bulbs so get this: http://www.ebay.com/itm/361017529037?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK:MEBIDX:IT
Are you going to rewire it per factory specs or are you using a kit? If per factory, there should be an Electrical ***embly Manual available. Check with this guy Jim Osborn Reproductions 770-962-7556. If your using a kit, do it any way you want. The book Jeff mentioned should be a good reference. When doing the install, take your time and do it neatly. Don't cut and finish any wires until you have run everything so you can see how every thing lays out in case you decide to change any routing..
I got the Osborn book on evilBay... like a little paperback. You have to enlarge the pages for it to be readable.
If your not restoring a universal kit is the way to go and there are a lot of them out there,,some very reasonable and some get a little pricy, the more expensive kits include everything you will need. I used the American Auto Wire in the wagon. HRP
Thank you all for the informational leads. I am not doing a restore, so one of this kits should work very well.
Anyone know who prints the large poster size wiring diagrams ? Remember seeing a post awhile back (maybe in another forum) and wish I'd ordered one for each car I own. They were definitely easier to follow as they were color coded and not an old factory black on white print that practically requires a magnifying gl*** to follow.
A lot of print shops can enlarge a letter size to bigger sizes,I had a Fed-Ex Kinkos Copy enlarge one to 11" X 14" and laminate it made it easier to read and grease proof cost was $6.
