the body is currently back on the frame, any help would greatly be appreciated.

weld square tubing between the a & b pillars on both sides .You can weld across from p***enger door to drivers door also.Thats the way i did it and it was on a rottiserie for 3 months.Check my profile for pics.

I did mine on jack-stands with the body on the frame. Do one section at a time. Don't remove the whole floor at once. Be sure to treat all the exposed metal before covering with the new floors. Be sure your doors are aligned right, before you start, as the bottom edge will be your guide for rocker placement. Good luck!

X2 on the one section at a time. My tunnel was in good shape, so I just did the "4 corners" one at a time. My doors were off though.

By "my doors were off, though", I meant they were removed from the car, not off from being aligned.

thank all! I made sure my doors closed properly after jacking the frame up on stands. then did as you suggested and pulled the doors of and welded 1x1 inch sq tubing to the A and B pillars. let the fun begin :)

I left the body on the car and shimmed it as close to the wheels as I could get. I fit the panels first and traced them to the original floor then did both sides of the front at the same time. I started in quarters but it seemed easier to make everything fit at the same time. I did the front first then the rear however. I coated the insides of the supports with a chemical similar to Phospho. Eats all the rust and seals them up (supposedly :) ). I have a page here somewhere with more detailed steps.

    Jay,
What brand floor pans did you use in the above post?

Like Jay,I left the body in place and started cutting out the rust, fortunately it wasn't that severe. HRP
