Appears to be a nice condition body you got there! The big firewall cutout would suggest it did have some bigger V8 sometime in the past, maybe an extended bell Hemi? Or other extended bell engine like an Olds? I think those tailights might be 67-68 GTO, they have that style. Otherwise I'm not much help.

no offence, Chris, but why do so many people unchannel an old build? Especially on a car that likely will be sold in the near future?

I'm not starting drama, but old builds seem so much more special to me.....even if I can't bend enough in my old age, to even get in them

It is the new traditional to undo old traditional.

That's really not the goal either. I suppose I should keep the sunroof and the GTO taillights as well?

I wasn't picking on this one car really, I was mostly making a comment on how unchanneling was a "must do" starting when? around 1970s or so?

I also wrongly ***umed he was a flipper, and he just corrected that....and I sure do get what he says about driving comfort. I can't physically get into one of these cars anymore...but I do hope some get saved.

lol, I totally missed the sunroof..

on the taillights, I don't find those to be ugly if it was going to be a late 60s build style...he,he

ok Chris, back on the build...what are your ideas for the motor and whatnot?.

It mostly seems to be a HAMB thing. You find a period hot rod, and then re-make in the HAMB vision. Unchannel it, ditch the bobbed fenders, replace the King Bees with Guide C's, ect. Don't get all ****-hurt OP, you are on the cutting edge of "traditional", and rest ***ured, most HAMBers are applauding right now.

I have some attachment to steel 32's. Growing up my father owned probably 8-10 and always said he would leave me one. Long story short (no sob story here) he ended up out of work and in bad health and always sold them. Now I am able to own them, I've seen them multiply in recent times as I've found decent deals. I appreciate the cars for what they are, and respect the way they were built many years ago. For me, I'm just not a sunroof/GTO tails/majorly channeled type of guy.

Fortunately for this car, I found it. It has sat for many, many years never touched or enjoyed. I'd much rather personally see someone change a car and put it to use, then let it sit in a garage or barn somewhere.

I have a very healthy 327 that I'll be putting in it, along with a 4 speed. I also have a fully redone mooneyham blower that I probably will be putting on it.

Funny you say that. I plan to keep the bobbed fenders, the King Bees will stay. I could care less of cutting edge or "traditional," or fitting in on thehamb for that matter. There's a reason I've been a member since 2007 and have 62 posts. :thumbs up:

cool, I am quite fond of a 327, back then it took too long to find an affordable one , so I also like the 283s.

that old coupe you did with the radirs...I had a pair of M/T Raders single ribs in the late 60s, so they catch my eye...in a good way. I did end up with a pair of original single ribs with 5.5 pattern in mint condition, but I doubt they will work on my 32 front, due to width/offset...but maybe I'll try them on :)
