This event is so much fun. Dave Davis is coming in from Minnesota to shoot for G***er Wars Magazine. We are picking him and his wife up at the airport Wednesday afternoon. We will be getting to the track on Thursday morning. Also Ron Norman coming in from Illinois with the Jack Merkel 1939 Willys for the unveiling and Jack Merkel himself will be there for it.

 

Flat head cars #1 (now owned by Doug Adams from MA) and #2 (now owned by **** K from Cape Cod) will be there, love to see #3 (runs in midwest now with Chevy instead of flathead) show up this year. All DJ's Louver race cars from the past!

Right now the weather is looking perfect. Hope it stays that way.

I like the way this thread is picking up with info on all the great cars attending. If it was not for the HAMB and you guys we would all be lost. This is the kind of info NHRA should be putting out !!

Memory Lane from last year. Dave Hales original Willys, our Filthy Forty tribute car and our friend Cazz's willys sedan out of California.

 

I did not hear all the details but on NECN tonight there was something about wining 6 tickets to
the reunion.

 

Hadn't received anything by mail so I called. I faxed my registration for the show and shine on August 4 and got a receipt it went through. Talked to a woman at the NHRA museum and she said they didn't receive it and there was nothing she could do for me. She said I'd have to talk to the people at the track on Friday. Very Frustrating!

 

TFoch, sorry to hear that. Supposedly my tickets will be at "will call" and I have my fingers crossed!!!! "Talk to the people at the track" is interesting advice. Woman at museum said to me there were only three people doing tickets for HRR. And this person was going to be onsite at the track this weekend. So who is it you are supposed to appeal to? NED personnel? Good luck with that. Did they charge your card?

 

Spoke to a lady at NE Dragway this morning who was very helpful. She told me to bring my paperwork and they would honor the preregistration fee. She said if there were any problems to ask for Rose who works for NHRA. They didn't charge my card, just lost my registration fax. Hope to see you guys this weekend.

 

Can any one suggest places to stay over night? I know last minute but thought I wasn't going to be able to go but maybe able to do Sat/Sun..Show and Shine pre reg or just show up? I went sat last year and the rain closed us down..

 

The weather looks spot on for all three days! In fact they say the humidity will be down on Friday, a blessing! There are two motels in Exeter, NH close to track and several in Portsmouth, NH which isn't a bad distance either. Not much in Epping proper. I doubt if you'll find any bargains though, friends tell us lodging in this area is pricey. Maybe one of those online deals like Trivago might ferrett out a good rate.

 

olcurmdgeon, thanks..This year has been an ac***ulation of error starting right on the 1st of January so it puts me a little [er, a lot] behind..Bargain would be nice but I'm not leaving money to anyone. I'll poke around in a bit..Thanks again..

 

Hey if you see an ol guy with chin whiskers by a black '40, stop and say hi Seb. No more flames on the coupe but a nifty new license plate topper on the rear thanks to Poverty Flats.

Ron Norman did indeed bring the two JM cars, the 39 just meticulously restored and the 33 in it's spectacular lime gold metalflake paint. Jack started the 39 up on friday the first he has heard it run in 40 years.
