Can anyone help in identifying this master cylinder? Was on the ch***is (Model A Ford)when I bought it, it's now leaking and would like to go back with the same thing but having trouble finding out just what it is. Numbers stamped on it are 257-30 or 257-3D. Thanks in advance!
I would agree with chessterd5 this is a picture of a Early 70s Master Cylinder for a Ford Torino. Joe
I bought one that looks very similar to that about a month ago. It was for a 1969 Mustang 4 wheel drum brake system, no discs. Chances are good most of the Ford products from around that time period will have a master cylinder that is very similar. Just make sure that if your A is all drum brakes the replacement master cylinder is for drum brakes as well.
Do you have an "old" parts house near by? Some of the old guys know parts by sight and quote part numbers.
