I've been reading some posts recently and have been itching to get something to wrench on during my spare time. I currently have an old Triumph motorcycle with a homebuilt sidecar, as well as another project bike or 3. Looking to find an old beater to turn into a rat rod. No fancy paint, unless it's flames over flat black.
If you're looking to buy, there's a couple of good swap meets coming up. March 2 in Shawnee and the Chickasha pre-war March 16-18. I guarantee there will be some projects at Chickasha. There always are, but you better get there early for the best deals. I have seen Model A bodies change ownership 2 or 3 times in a single day, going up in price each time. Tulsa's swap meet is in april at the Creek County Fairgrounds west of Sapulpa.
Welcome aboard from a fellow Okie! Sounds like a lot of the HAMB folks are attending SK500 in May. Hope to see you there.
Thanks for the welcomes from all. Not sure about making it much of anywhere, my wife is disabled and can't deal with heat or too cold of temps very well. Large crowds don't work well either, something about being at ass level in a wheelchair, the view just isn't the same. I'm hoping to find an old panel truck to make wheelchair accessible. Ideal would be anything in the '50's, but depending on price and condition, I'll look at about anything. Welcome to the HAMB. Lots of good HAMBers over there in the Tulsa area...let them know what you are looking for...many eyes are better than two. Tell your wife not to worry about the WC...you guys can sit on my trailer anytime and that way she can see over the bald heads. Ron.
