Stopped at another junk yard today. I would guess this yard has 4-5000 vehicles and parts up the ****. I didn't have a lot of time today so I couldn't stay as long as I wanted. I was looking for a set of stainless vent windows from a 51 Ford F1 to put on my 50. It was a no go! None to be had there. I got the stainless front window trim yesterday from a 51 to put on mine. I did buy today a beautiful like new 48 ford horn ring and center that was hanging on the wall for $20.00. Now I need the steering wheel to go with it. Also for the 50. That made me Happy! So here are some pictures from the 2nd yard.

Very Kool ! Don't think there are any big junkyards left in Wi, that have old cars, when I was young (60's) they were many and like alot of things back then, very reasonable, in 1964, I purchased a 348 trip carb w/ 3 speed trans, complete out of a wrecked 58 Chev for $175, put it in a 57 210 coupe and I had a pretty Kool car. I have a friend that purchased a 2010 corvette engine, trans and computer for $5000 from a recyling center, sounded like a deal to me, in his rod and runs great, just a few problems getting computer stuff correct. Soooo...... I guess nothing is different, just the times. An Old Timer rambling on this PM.

Any chance of getting a link to a satellite view of these yards, or a general location in Montana? I love to get the pilots view of this kind of stuff.

Based on the percentage of pickups the yard must be in a farming area? Thanks for the pics and taking the time to post them. You're making a lot of folks envious tho.

Yes lots of trucks! Montana is truck country and always has been. People here owned trucks before they owned cars other than Model T days and many of them were converted to trucks before Ford starting building them. Lots of things here missed the WW-2 s**** drives. It was way to far to take things to drop off. And then there is the dry climate and no salt on the roads. kind of a combo of things.

    from Mt

It's good to know that a few good old Mt yards are hanging on. In the last couple of years Freeman's in Whitehall and S&S near Anaconda both crushed out.

  14. THANKS for the pictures ! I would love to go there. Junk Yards are my favorite thing to do! Please keep the photos coming !!!!!!!

Nice that you can roam through the yard. Used to be able to do that around here, but not so much anymore. They always play the "liability" card now.
