Made a quick 800 mile trip from MI to CT to get the '34 project home! I'm excited, the car was well represented in the HAMB cl***ifieds, no disappointment. My dad, 91, went along and had a great time. I may make a hot rodder out of him yet! Here's the car in my driveway... Yup, hauled it home with the '48 Diamond T pickup. And, hotrodA, you snooze, you lose! ;-) The headers are from it's original blown flattie, those and Buick drums are the only remains of that ch***is. The roadster body was pulled in favor of a coupe, hence, the missing original ch***is and drivetrain. The headers are cool, but I won't have a use for 'em, my plan is for a (gasp!) 350 dressed up to look like a 283.

    Congrats. Please ditch the headers.

  12. Always nice when something is undersold and over delivered.
That body and parts look really clean.
    Congrats!

Chris, the chrome is very poor, but if you shoot me an email (bcmccool@msn.com) I'll send some photos. Could you send me pics of the top iron mount (if your avitar is a car you still have) inside the body? I have the top, beautiful chrome bows, aged but cool Haartz canvas, but the mount are in the body has wallered out holes, and the bows done seem to fit right. I know it's the correct top, because I have photos of it back in the day with the top up, and folded down.

I think that car , ( or at least the body) was featured in Hot Rod magazine several years ago, maybe the '80s. It had a flathead, and was featured with a '32. I remember the inscription on the rear panel.
Great buy. So get going, I expect to see it at Relix Riot next year.
    Cheers,
    Stewart.

Here's the engine that's probably going in it. I need a 700R transmission to replace the 4 L60 it has.

I took pictures of that car in the 80's at the NSRA nats east in York PA. I think it was a maroon color. I would have to dig for the pictures to check.

I have several photos of the car somewhere. It was maroon or purple as I recall and ran around with another 5 window Deuce. Circa 1978 or so.

Right you are Stewart and Buz, it was in SR in '83, maroon, blown flatmotor. The black primer appears to be just dusted on, the maroon is still underneath. I may try to sand the primer off and just buff it, if I can bring myself to driving it ratty looking. The new frame has a Model A rear crossmember, which I'm not sure about. Uses up trunk room, and I want it low. Flattened '40 crossmember and flat spring?

I've got a couple rear crossmembers if you want to compare. One 33-34. and one 40

I shall consult with the oracle in Ionia, he who knows all, as to the proper crossmember. Actually, digging through old Street Rodders, there's a piece in there about Dennis using a flattened '40 crossmember in a Deuce frame. Thanks Jeff!

Your Dad must have had fun hauling the roadster home with you. Hope I am still chasing 34's at that age!

I remember that magazine co-feature with the '32. I think the '32 had an Ardun and smooth Halibrands. Wasn't the '32 roadster Sixcarb's Dad's car? It's still around today.

I know you are heading a different direction, but recreating that car from 30 years ago would be a great way to go.

    Flattened '40 cross-member with a '40 spring works great with a 7.50 x16 tire, the model A cross-member is for Quick change clearance. 20150623_120242_resized.jpg
