I'm running a 28" GM style tilt column on my '54 with a Borgeson box, I used a 2" column drop and that set the column almost perfectly in-line with the input shaft on the box. I'm running a CPP 11/16-36 X 1DD u-joint, between the box and column. This is the only pic I have really showing the column...
Thanks. I was really thinking of a column shifted column but have since learned that is out of the question. I will probably do the same as you. Thanks for your response.
This may be a dumb question, but what model Borgenson steering box are folks using? Specifically, I have a '56 2-door coupe that could stand an upgrade. Additionally, what other parts are needed to install the box? Thanks.
Borgeson makes a unit specifically for the 52-56. Others use a Jeep box with an adapter plate. http://www.borgeson.com/xcart/home.php?cat=117 http://www.summitracing.com/int/sea...ing-conversion-boxes/year/1956/model/fairlane
Do they only have a power steering box or is there a manual version? I wouldn't mind doing this after I put the T5 in but I prefer manual steering.
