This weekend, installed radiator hoses, alternator and brackets and a few other goodies. But I will have to space out the alternator brackets to line up the serpentine pulleys and clear the valve cover for belt tension adjustment room. Pics of the progress under the hood soon. Think I'll install the carbs first.

Installed the carbs and linkage. Also got the grill apron installed and a few other items, like rad hoses and thermostat housing.
No pics, but the chrome mini starter and oil sender goodies are also in and the brake pedal adjustment and repaint is also complete.
I also fabbed an alternator bracket spacer, but I need longer bolts to finalize that. The set up I bought is for V belt, so it was not lined up. Needed 1.250 spacing, which helps clear the valve cover anyway.

Working on a better pedal seal set up and throttle pedal and cable this week. Then wiring, clear coat the dash and it's read to fire up for the first time!

    Should be driveable by thanksgiving.

Kinda of an old farmer fix but on several of my 32's I've used a piece of inner tube with a slit in it for the pedal glued to the floor under the carpet. Keeps the majority of the air out.

Thanks. I'll have to explore some options. I did find a firm foam rubber at Home Depot that may work. About 3/8" thick. So if it isn't too "grabby," it'll work.

Just read your thread from the start, Vicky`s have always been high on my list of favorites. I have to agree about your comment about the rear tire size, needs to be bigger. (JMHO)
Keep up the great work, looking forward to seeing more.

Good looking car, was hoping for Shiny paint, but I get it, keeping the Harley shiny will wear your fingers out.

Try a piece of rubber roofing for the gas pedal cover, it's heavier than the inner tube. Good stuff to have around for non critical general gasket making. If you know any roofers they'll get you cutoffs from rolls.

Thanks. I'm figuring the rears won't be around long and they were a guess. 400 approx hp and a 2000 lb car will make it quick.

Appreciate that. I was going to do shiny paint, pearl orange actually. But budget, spray booth access and my OCD would require perfection, which equals big money or redo's that I didn't want to explore painting it myself.

The material I'm looking for was for a gasket that the brake pedal would p*** thru. To replicate the factory seal, but for my custom application. I almost bought one to cut up, but the $25 price made me explore other options. I've invested $4 so far. I'll see this weekend how it goes.

No doubt, with that power to weight ratio tire life would be short. I would have to get a second job just for tires.LOL.
As far as shiny paint goes, worry about that when you get everything refined and the bugs worked out.

Yeah, it will be a blast to drive! I push it from the field about 100 feet onto the back lift by myself without even breathing hard. I'll know soon enough!

The black was my second choice and is growing on me. I might do some clear flames from the hood sides down to the door handles. Just to make it different than the other flat and satin black cars I see. But I don't want it too fancy, just to build something like I might have in my early twenties if I was able.

The interior will be the tuffest part. I'll have to hire help for a lot of it.

Today I added vacuum and PCV hoses, throttle cable and pedal, started fuel distribution rail install and got the Alternator mounted up. Fabbed the 1.250 spacer behind the "EBay" brackets that were drilled wrong and spaced wrong. Also shortened the adj bracket, since it was made for the earlier version alternator, 1.375 taller version. So shortened it accordingly and repainted.

This pic made me bring out the Oswego and a paint brush to tidy up the rusted clip and a few other items. Sitting out in the field at the shop doesn't help. At least with the hood on it stopped getting worse while I wait for time and money to get er done.

Dash got dusty, so it'll get a sand and buff before pics.

Just a quick sand with 1500 in a few spots and buff and it'll be perfect. Happy with it now. Install the dash cluster tomorrow. Ordering AC system early next week then wiring starts.

Haha. Yeah, shiny dash and the cluster is polished, so it should pop really well. It's all about contrast!

Ok man, I'll snap some decent pics this week!

I am also looking for tips to mount my fuel pressure regulator. Thinking right front cylinder head with a heat insulator of some sort. Between the pump and fuel rail.
    Time for some serious searching.

    On my good news report...

Today I ordered my Vintage air kit, along with the black billet oval backlit control panel. I also ordered a clover shaped billet bulkhead panel to connect the lines thru the firewall and the matching fittings.

Also ordered a windshield adhesive cutting tool to remove my cracked windshield so I can make a template for Chris to cut me a new windshield.

AND ordered another set of black ignition wires, since the one I bought last year only had 6 wires when I finally opened it up to install the ignition wires yesterday. GRrrrrrrr. EBay, another lesson learned, check thoroughly and immediately before leaving feedback. A peek into the box isn't enough.

Buy high and sell low, that's my motto!

Got a lot done today. Took a few pics of the updates. Trans cooler lines, convertor cover, Trans TV cable and dipstick. Fuel plumbing finalized and snugged up.
