Hey guys- Can any one offer up tips on getting brake drums off on 39 Ford juice system that's been sitting for a long time? Project is 35 Ford p/u that was converted who knows when. The drums move, but wow are they stiff! Moving the eccentric adjusters on the backing plate seems to provide very little clearance for anything to move. Been trying to squirt WD-40 in behind rear edge of drum, but limited results. Don't want to damage anything, and I'm afraid to apply heat at this point. Thanks in advance for any experienced advice!

Are we talking about front or back? Back require a puller. They are a keyed taper fit. Fronts should slide right off.

  5. Any chance there is a set of safety hubs holding the drum on (if they are rear)? You can identify safety hubs by two of the 4 bolts attaching the backing plate having been replaced with studs and nuts. You still haven't told us if you are working on the front or rear drums, it would narrow down the problem considerably.

The poster has had 3 months to get his problem fixed since he posted this...I'll bet he found a solution by now.
