^Build it!.....just don't put one of those wood floors 6" down from the top of the box!
Leave the box bottom open, and build a luggage rack type structure in there to hold shit.

I found the image here on the H.A.M.B. but I can't remember what thread it was on. I remember seeing the car in this form back in the day in a magazine (probably Rod & Custom) and I always liked it.

  9. Larry, that Mercedes 300SL looks familiar- didn't Gene Winfield do one? With the rpu sitting right next to it, I wonder if he had anything to do with the repaint/update on the rpu?

yes...and I got a buddy coming over tonight to help me decide...he's done several T's on deuce rails...the '32 rails seem to be the easiest route, and I'll have the '32 wheelbase in my favor

A bit off track, but I remember seeing one covered in flames, may have been Watson, but I recall something about Von Dutch doing one.
I can just see the hoi polloi cringe while uttering "OH HOW GAUCHE"!

I think the flamed one was Von Dutch. Funny, I really like gull-wings, but when I looked at that photo, I didn't even notice it! All I could see was that RP!

That looks like the inside of a 1930's two man INDY car, thanks for posting it!. Note the torque tube is turned 90% to give the speedo cable an easy shot. Is this car on '32 rails? Bob

I suspected that and thought that it might get me a 'bite me' reply.
I'm wondering if we might start a pool on what frame it winds up on. He can't get the 32 out of his system and there are some cool examples. I bet we know soon...or not

Excellent thread, I'll be parking a 1929 (titled) Ford T Bucket truck in my garage in the morning. This car was featured in a 1975 Issue of "Rod Action" and comes with the original magazine! I'll post pics in another thread. Can't wait to read more of this thread.

  30. Brynk,

The Guido Bros. are some of our finest, upstanding Italian American immigrants, hailing originally from the island of Sicily....in other words, their gangsters who specialize in "enforcement"! ;-D Von Dutch flamed Earl Bruce's Mercedes 300 SLC gullwing.
