The Messaround Car Show was today in Minneapolis, all traditional hot rods. rained most of the day and the turn out was great, just a wonderful showing of traditional hot rods, they would inspect the cars as they came to the gate, if it were decided it was not a traditional build, then the car was turned away. The 32 Coupe on the road, is Eric Hendrickson, just got his 322 Buick Nailhead sorted out, said it was running great. The last picture was a shot from my Model A on the way home, 30 miles in a heavy downpour, surprisingly my 322 Nailhead ran fine with all that water coming in the carbs, go figure. http://www.minneapolismessaround.com/
What a fun/wet day, made up my mind to go, no matter the weather, didn't want Eric to think I was a big puss!
Car show in the rain! Very cool , great hotrods. The wimps around here wont take there cars out if there are clouds in the sky. Thanks for sharing.
I didn't get as wet as the pictures depict. I got there early, ate lunch during the worst rain and rain diminished as I drove home north. One of my favorite shows and a good turnout despite the wetness.
Hey. I'm sure that water injection clean carbon deposits off the valves, increases horsepower by 20-30% by pulling extra "O" out of the H2O, and double fuel mileage in most cases. That little truck looks cool running down the road.
The Lucky *******s put on a great show! Lots of awesome hot rods and kustoms all in one place! It was great meeting you as well Craig and Eric, love the nailhead powered hot rods!
I love the fact that you guys have the at***ude that they are cars and meant to to be driven. 1927graham what is the color of your truck it look killer on it Tom
Hi Tom: I really enjoyed the Minneapolis show, fun stuff. The color on the Model A is a very dark bluish charcoal, don't know the exact color, have plans to repaint first thing this spring, the same color, don't really need to, has a few scratches. If you look closely at the picture of Eric's road shot, Eric pointed out, you can see my car's reflection in has hub cap, thought that was cool. I like driving this latest build but it does require hours to keep clean, got 5,000 miles on it this summer.
The wife and I made an entire weekend road trip out of it. 1200 miles on the big Merc wagon (and 90 gallons of fuel ). We left the Northwest corner Thursday evening after work in 95 deg heat, visited some family in the Brainerd Lakes area, caught cruise night in Brainerd Friday night and then head south to the Twin Cities Saturday. Spent the day running around (read shopping, got to keep the Misses happy, and the wagon will haul a bunch of **** back). Sunday we went to the Messaround. Enjoyed the show, had a good time talking to a bunch of the local guys, and the rain at least kept the temps down. After the show we drove over to Hutchinson and had dinner with some friends and family, before returning to the frozen tundra on Monday. If anyone has a picture of my wagon at the Messaround, please post it up. I failed to take any.
