Just a quick question, maybe someone can help. Can a stock '57 ford front cross member be used to replace my '56 rotted out cross member.....Thanks for your help, just trying to save a few bucks...Joe.

I'm going to start a thread in the next couple of days on making one. I just finished the one for mine and the hardest part was stopping to take the pictures. Fabbing one is a lot easier than you think. I haven't installed it yet (time constraints) but I plan on making a thread of the install as well. Stay tuned!

That's great news. Will surely follow your thread. You wouldn't have a clearer diagram than the one Jeff posted above? Been trying to get a better print so I can read it better. Maybe I can drop it into photo shop and maybe get a clearer print?? If you do have a better diagram and want to share, please post it or PM me. Thanks, Joe.

I do, but I have to make a cleaner copy to be more presentable (my greasy paw prints are all over it). I've added several more measurements as well. I'll post it along with the pics. It will be a few days before I get the time to post tho. If you're in a hurry. PM me and I'll get a copy to you.

Tried PM, (start a conversation) but got an error, something about your privacy settings? Ever since the HAMB went to this new format, I haven't been able to completely get the hang of it all. Maybe you can PM the copy to me. Greasy paw prints probably make it look better. Joe.

The Goodell units for 1955-56 are the same 1954 is one year only, what the difference is not I'm sure the link I posted was a member that made them for 1955-56 Fords so measure, measure and then measure again. Chopd top,be sure to post yours in the "sticky faq".

I wasn't aware that the 55-56's were different. I thought they were the same from 54 thru 56. I printed out the image of the 'print' you posted from the member (forgot who that was) quite some time ago and used it to start mine. I measured everything (more than once) and what was on the 'print' was the same as the 54. I measured several things that weren't on the 'print' and added them. Looking at Goodells (great product from everything I've read about them), the only differences I can see are the core support tabs. The basic cross-member looks to be the same. Perhaps someone can chime in with the differences that I'm unaware of.

Hmm, I haven't set anything private that I'm aware of. We're in the same boat on figuring out this new format. I'll PM you and see if that works.

I found this recently on mine. Looks like I have some work to do. Do you think it's wise to put drain holes in so this won't happen again? 20150913_104506.jpg
