I have a 51 F1. Thinking of shaving the handles. It has one piece side windows, so no vents. The kits I have seen are electric with cable back up. Is a cable system available?

Small warning- if you ever want to make pass at drag strip must have outside door handles. At most tracks anyway. Otherwise love the look.

An old friend of mine would use bicycle brake cable with a handle tucked under the front fender....just in case the solenoids failed or the car went dead.....

There's a post on here about installing non-electric door poppers. Do a search

You can make mechanical flush mount door buttons, too. olds door button.jpg

Someone did a how to based on my drawings of how to do these.

  7. I've shaved the door handles in the past but have finally come to the conclusion that they are not the eye sore I thought they were when I was lock out and trying to decide which window I was going to use the brick in my hand own.

I DON'T SHAVE DOOR HANDLES ANYMORE. HRP

Those look good. Another route would be the Lincoln round push buttons. Somebody on here sells the repo's.

I agree. I dont shave handles because its such a hassle every time you want to open the door. . You're going to open the doors thousands of times

I agree! New cars have flush style door handles. I think having real door handles makes my car unique. Same as wing windows. Great feature. I wish my OT daily driver had them.
