Anyone got an T85 or know of one for sale. I'm not sure how well the T86 od is going to hold up behind my new engine.

    A hot flathead will break a T-86

Yes I know. If I cant find one I will just have to baby it until I either get one or do a T5 swap.

Mark, did you happen to see what the sellers name was? I did a search and found some 3 speeds but none had overdrive.

don't but one with the 16 spline tail shaft, because you can't find one.

I was hoping to find one with the tailshaft yoke and the shift linkage . None of what I have on the t86 will interchange that I know of.

16 spline driveshaft yokes are hard to find but if you look hard enough you'll find one.

Are you going to put a floor shifter in it?

Probably not. I have heard that the overdrive makes it difficult to use a floor shifter. I don't mind the column shifter and an added bonus is it is a good theft deterrent.

Found one-maybe. Contacted Owens (Thanks Jeff) he has one out of a 60 or 61 Ford. He is checking on the shift linkage to see if it is different than my T86's. Will I need to have my driveshaft reworked? And if so any recommendations in the Missouri /Illinois /Iowa area on shops to do this?
