Probably the "noisy" (N) version Pete Jackson gear drive I got one, I hear I 'll hate it.
Should have died with the PRO STREET fad.

It looks level when the front wheels leave the surface.

They did that blue oval on the drivers side to keep a big chunk on paint from falling off. About a 2 1/2" by 2" chunk.

Good luck with your inspection. I think the 'techs' there are much more used to seeing rods than previous years back...If everything is fastened down as nice as the overall look, you shouldn't have a 'bucket list' of things to fix.

Wow! Don't think I've ever seen a whole tube of form-a-gasket used on a single timing cover before.

They put form a gasket on the exhaust gaskets too . The inspection was a piece a cake, on a truck/car this old all they do is look, p*** and collect their $7.00. Takes about 10 minutes. What's gonna slow me down is the wife is wanting me to put in a new kitchen floor soon. If I can get the new timing chain put in and covered first that would be good. She usually wants nothing for herself so this floor will get top priority.

Wow. here in BC, if they do an inspection on a hot rod, they would see it as a personal failure if they couldn't find something to turn you away for...

  10. Got a state inspection many years ago in Indiana. Used a shop close to where I was working at the time. Office mate told me getting off with buying windshield wiper blades was about the best I could expect. Sure nuff, I had to buy a set to get out of the place.

I know what you guys are talking about. Use to be here you couldn't get an inspection without paying another $10.00+ for headlight alignment, people got fed up and it went away but then comes in emissions testing which cost much more. Went to the DMV three times before they would get me my license tags. They are very willing to cheat you but very afraid of being cheated out of tax dollars themselves. Greedy people... easy prey (taxpayers).

Making progress, geared cam drive is out and chain drive installed (dreaded front seal leak is in place). Sounds much better! Installed short spark plugs that don't allow the plug wires to burn and short out on the headers, no more missing. Got the ***le transfer done but forget the check book... yes they take credit cards... but there's a extra 20.00 charge for using it and a $0.50 convenience fee. Oh well that's what I get for forgetting the check book. Lots more work to do.
