My Swedish Pals are back in the states, Michael the leader of the group is headed to Denver now from Lincoln, Neb. to pick up his group of 7 or so gear heads from across the pond, they will be in search of all things Americana and vintage parts & project cars, they'll be hitting all the old salvage yards i can find for them. So if you know of any others or collections that would just be great to see & tour through, they love that as well. Let me know so I can get them the info, or if you'd like to meet up with them along the way to sell some of your left over stuff. The tour will be in the Greeley, Lovland area & the Goodguys event at the Ranch, then into Denver, & Lamar areas, then into Kansas for a few days, then back to home base camp here at my shop in Lincoln, Neb. where they will fill a 40 foot container to ship back Sweden, then over to Speedway Motors for a tour of the amazing "Museum of American Speed" then they'll hit the parts counter to pick up their orders of hot Rod parts & accessories .
I'll be in North Platte this weekend for the show. Sure would love to tag along on your tour though. Looks like a fun batch.
Always nice to see fellow Swedish Vikings perform cultural work, hope you can find a lot of good stuff. I saw you had loaded on a HEMI engine,we always need more HEMIS in Sweden
you might want to check out Dwight Bonds place. I think he is in or around Hastings, or Kearney nebraska. We were down in Kearney in April, stopped at Dwights really nice guy, even bought us lunch! He has a nice collection of tin piled up outside his shop, even some out on the street, & nobody messes with it.
Go to Google street view for 22033 Colorado 94, Calhan CO. If you like what you see there take a trip to the yard, lots of 50's stuff.
They should send us something from Sweden for all the US cars and parts. Like Swedish women. No WWII stuff.
yep.....they started cleaning out the Dallas area in the late 80's....still meet up with one guy at the Pate Swap meet every year.....have fun youse guys !
Yes Dwight Bond always is welcoming to me and he has some great stuff, Nebraska, Kansas, Wyo, SD still have an abundance of good stuff and we do need to open up to these guys because at least they are hungry for it and do neat things with their treasures. I have seen way to many old junk yards just crush out because it's not worth it to them to stay open, not enough interest in America in old junk as the younger crowds are tending to their High tech gadgets, So treasurer hunting is slowing way down in all these old yards! So we need to get the traffic back up and make it worth while for these guys to stay open with there fields of dreams. Yes some of the guys like Hemi's and they find them in the stangest places lots of irrigation engs.
Yes been there that is Webb Auto salvage I sold them some late model parts they needed & delivered the old timer let me run through the yard, yes lots of neat stuff! but I remember him being a tough cat to deal with & high priced? hope he's still there and has softened up a bit?
Webb's son is running the yard most of the time these days. He is a lot easier to deal with. Of course it is a **** shoot whether or not the old man is around. I haven't had any issues with their prices; maybe I just look poor? This is what happened the last time I was coming home with a load of "cheap" parts. By the time I paid the speeding ticket the parts weren't cheap anymore.
good to hear I'll have to get back there some time soon with all these Swedish dudes They like to Buy Americana not matter what it is ! The dude in your mirror is why I had to leave colordao! 12 points on a licence ??? that goes pretty quick as a young gear head! I think they should have an optional box another 12 point for like 300 bucks up frt just think of in increase in revenue they'd get for just offering it!
Hi! I am very Interrested in old junkyards. Me and my wife are going to the south states soon on vacation. Do you have some good recomondations? Regards Morten , geerhead from Norway
