It's not just you, I too have a car that seemed to lose favor with shortly after getting. I believe it is classified as an impulse buy.

  4. Yes, but it took a while-- It's been my dream car for the first 14 years out of 15 years of ownership.

Now, after 15 years of building, driving, and building again, I've finally gotten my Chevy the way I'd always envisioned it would be. It's beautiful.

But now I've lost interest and wanna sell it to finance a Model A project and a welder. My wife thinks I'm crazy .

  5. When I was daily driving all of my "old" cars, all I wanted was the reliability of a newer car, so I wouldn't have to spend all my spare time wrenching on my car, then, the alternative way of spending my free time was drinking and carousing.

Now that the alternative way of spending my free time is doing school work, and repairing a house, all I want to do is work on my old cars.

Find out what you really want, it might not be the KIND of car that you aren't happy with, it may be the time you are spending on it that you are unhappy with because it's your daily.

I still have my very first car, a 1982 Mustang GT. I keep it around because it was my FIRST CAR. I've had it for 12 years now but I haven't pulled it out of the shop for at least two years. Runs great (supercharged, cam, headers, 9" posi)! Unfortunately, my heart just isn't into giving it the attention that it needs. It doesn't cost me that much to own, so I keep it around hoping that someday I'll regain interest in it....if not, I'll pull that f'n engine and put it in a cool car!:)

  9. I just flaat refuse to buy a car I don't fully love. I mean, if I'm gonna spend as much time with it as I do my wife, I GOTTA love it to death or I'm gonna end up hating it. Right now, I have the dream car I've been wanting to build since I was in Jr High school...a 40 chevy business coupe. I realise I'm in the minority about this but everytime I see it, I get about half a leaner...still!

    Wise words.
I have battling for ~+4 years to get to my projects without much success (2005 I ended up with 3 days free ... did not get much done  ) A number of new jobs, a beautiful daughter, no garage for wrenching, wrong project etc. As soon as it warms up a bit (-45C tonight!!!...with wind) I plan on selling the following. Probably only of interest to CDN HAMBers. If anyone is curious PM me for details. I think late May sounds good .... feel better already :) Thanks for listening .....

    Later,
