anyone got a spare 15x 6 or 7 chevy bolt pattern?

 

Misses the HAMB cut-off by a couple years but still cool and kinda rare. Keystone Kustomag 15" X 4" with spinner cap and Good Year Blue Streak. Period stand for effect

 

Found these today at a garage sale in Florida. I've never seen another set like them. They are Mickey Thompson wheels, but they are 13 inch 4x4.5 bolt pattern. I have a stock black 63 Falcon convertible that they will fit. They came with a complete set of crossed flag spinners IN THE ORIGINAL BOX! Also had the original lug nuts and washers in bags. The box is addressed to California Speed and Sport in Brunswick NJ and mailed in 1965. Thought I would add them to this thread.

 

I remember the knockoffs, but never saw the wheels before. They will be perfect on the Falcon.

 

AKH Wheels is a guy that stocks old vintage and NOS wheels. They are listed on his website as Rader DBR-100 SPC wheels. Similar to my post yesterday, but he has pictures. I do know that my dad had M/T wheels on his '59 Impala convertible, but everyone familiar will just say they are Raders. Same wheel with two names ... just like yours.

The regular raiders have a raised rib right down the center and the spoke is the same size all the way down to the rim. These are just peaked in the middle and they are flattened off at the bottom of the spoke to make a triangle just before it gets to the rim. I've never seen another set like them. I asked AKH what he wants for that one wheel he has advertised as a "hose hanger".

 

Don't know how rare these are, but don't see many in Aust ralia. 16 x 9 & 3/4 Americans.

 

He has that one advertised as a "hose hanger" since he only has one and the chances of finding others are nill. Yet, he still wants $200 for the wheel. I paid much less than that for the whole set I bought so I guess it will be staying right there in his collection..... I mean inventory.

 

Kind of a unicorn as it is. Not many of anything .... whether steel, aluminum or imaginary. Definitely a specific crowd for such ... but not something easily found nor really asked for these days. 13" wheels are 13".

 

I hardly ever really get jealous...just not the type I guess. But this thread manages to bring just a little out on a fairly regular basis. And you guys who find stuff at garage sales...that kills me. lol

Anyway, here's my modest contribution. I have a hard time calling a Rader a "rare" wheel here on the hamb (although those 13's certainly qualify! damn!), but I hardly ever see the flat spoke variety that I'm personally more drawn to. When this set popped up on the bay in the size I needed with good chrome, I had to have 'em. One wheel was curbed hard and should have the hoop replaced, but it's been straightened enough to get by for now. I intend to reverse the rears into 7" hoops when I've got less to cross off my to-do list, so it can wait 'til then.

If anyone happens to have a single, though, I'd be interested...that to-do list is kinda long. lol. Plus I wouldn't mind having the repaired wheel for the spare. In the meantime, I do plan on polishing out the centers...one of those projects that's good for when it's colder than a witches *** in the garage and I need to meditate my way through 'til spring.

Can any one educate me on Safety Racing Equipment wheels? Not sure if that's the correct name. I believe they were Sprint dirt track wheels, but I'm not sure. Are they any good? Were they ever used on street/strip?

 

Without digging out any old books, I'm kinda thinking those were offered by a company out of the Midwest called Kens Wheels. I could be all wet on this,though .

Picked up these 12 spokes for the Hupmobile kinda of rare I guess. Early ford spindle mount.

 

Those look like the ones on e-bay now for stupid money, Inner halfs are probably the rarest ,more common are the wide-5's and the 6-pin for sprint knock-offs. Have wide-5's on the back of my R.P.U. 10" wide. I think all inners were 6" wide. smallest could be made were 7" with the outer ring.

 

3.5 Fenton Gyro, came out in 63/64. Picked them up off a friend and he was lucky enough to find NOS centre caps. I had them polished, some say they were never meant to be but I did.

 

Original kelsey hayes factory mercury wheels. only 19 four speed cars made.

 

Those Halibrand Spindlemounts were 90's castings - fairly rare, they even made some that fit a MII spindle.

I've NEVER seen the Ansens in a spindlemount configuration - I think you may have an extremely rare pair of wheels!

I'm not sure how rare these are, but I've had a pair of spyder wheels stashed forever. They are 15" x 6" Chrome is starting to look shabby, might clean up, driver quality.

 

Sure would like to see a picture of the backside of the Ansen Sprint

 

Brand new, NOS, still in the box, red-foamed, magnesium front Motor Wheel Flys...NFS...traded Bill Porterfield of Mid-Engineering, a pair of 15 x 10's with the correct offset he was looking for, even up for these, a long time ago...

 

I think that ansen is a back shot no valve stem hole looks like bike wheel maybe

 

Question of the day---- Can anybody tell me if ET Wheels made a 15x4 or 15x3 5 spoke Super or ETII front Wheels?

The only vintage skinny "Torq Thrust style" wheels are the original 15x4 magnesium American Torq Thrusts and a rare aluminum copy made by Crestline. The most narrow vintage ET 5-spokes I've seen are 15x6. A couple years ago, the new ET Wheels company started making an aluminum 15x4 cast wheel, which is essentially a duplicate of the original Torq Thrust and Crestline. Vintage Engineering also makes a new magnesium copy of the original 15x4 Torq Thrust.

 

The Crestline 15" X 4" Aluminum 5 Spoke, The shape of the spokes and the taper is different than the Magnesium American Racing and the new ET copy

You should try to find 15 x 7 or 15 x 8 1/2, just as hard to find. I've only ever seen 2 pair of 15 x 8 1/2 in person. One pair I traded for the other pair I have now (different bolt pattern). I missed a pair of 7" years ago on the bay, only time I've ever seen those. 14 x 6 & 15 x 6 seem to pop up more
