Do a search on cutting coils, there are a number of posts about it. Basically, you have to relieve the tension on the coil before you cut it, and you only take out 2-4 coils. Do a search for a detailed exlplaination.

  3. taking the coil out makes life easier, measure the spacing of the coils while the car is on the ground, to determine exactly how far the car will drop if you cut 1 coil vs 4.

if the coils end on opposite sides, you will have to cut 1/2 off the top and 1/2 off the bottom, to achieve the same coil ending as the beginning.

hacksaws work the best for cutting coils real quick.

Do not use heat. Do not cut the tapered end off. Make sure the new "shape" will fit back in the pockets. I used an angle grinder, took 30 seconds. don't knick the part of the spring you'll use, be carefull.

Take the coil out !! Use a chop saw or an angle grinder, about 2 coils should be good.

Use a 4" cut-off wheel in your grinder.

Look to see if its possible to make the spring pocket deeper, that way the front will sit lower & still ride as smooth as it does now.
Cutting the springs will always give a harder ride, at the end of the day its your call but i would look into it.

It's going to settle after you cut it. Make your first cut a little less than what you think you want then drive it for a couple of days or a week.

It's easier to take more off than it is to put it back on.

When it comes to cutting coils I'm a hacksaw man.
