Can anybody help me out with how they inserted the center bullet cap through their rim.. I recently purchase some caps that measured 3.125", but were too thick to pull through the center steel rim.. i've been reading that alot of people actually sand down the center piece on the rim to make the bullet cap fit.. is this the only opition? any help will be appreciated.. thanks!
Ok not to be a d@@k....did you measure the hole before you bought the bullet! I have had several sets of wheels with push though bullets that did just that...pushed through. If your not putting these on a chrome wheel you can probably use a rat tail file on the hole in the wheel and get them to fit
Also, make sure the bullet also fits the hub too. The wheel still must seat properly on the hub/drum. Mine slide though the center with no interference. You might have to go with a spider cap if you can't find push thru's to fit.
The guy sent me one to test, I did measure and it didn't seem right to me.. everybody else that's I've ask had the same problem, but filed down the center piece of the rim to make it slide through.. which is probably the only option since they don't make these in a smaller size
so, what is the inside diameter of the rim that you want to put these center bullets on? chrome plated? what is the outside diameter of center hub? using matching bullet style lug nuts? ever thought about using spider caps? post pics of wheels & your ride
If you only have to take off a whisker one of those grinding stones in a die grinder or drill will save your wrist.
