I had a wisdom tooth that became 'ulcerated', 1972 in Santa Cruz. Fortunately, the oral surgeon was a Porsche customer of mine.
I went in at about 9:00 AM, got anesthetized, and by 9:30 Dr. was literally hammering a small chisel into the center of the tooth! (had to split the molar, as it was astride the jaw, locking it on...)
...A harrowing experience, practically 'surreal' at the time... Like a bad dream, everything cloudy, voices trailing off...
Afterward, I feebly got to my feet, groggily mentioning I wouldn't punish his 911 with such 'fervor...'

 

DAM! Hope all goes well for ya dude........Will be standing by to see how it went for you.

I had all 4 of my wisdom teeth taken out in one trip 2 years after my dentist "recommended" to me they should come out. As long as they didn't bother me and seeing the pain my friends went through to have theirs removed, I was going to wait until they bothered me and had to come out! They were not impacted and came out whole (oral surgeon gave them to me afterward, lol), minimal swelling and minimal pain . I really lucked out.
