Found another hidden gem, these 35's are hard to come by! He owned this car for 30 plus years, he has the rear fenders and grill she'll and insert but that's it, the deck lid was welded shut and the top filled in. It has a 283 with a cam backed by a powerhouse and a mustang II front end. He passed away and she's thinking about selling it but doesn't know what it's worth, I've looked but they are hard to find so what do you guys think on something like this? If a man wanted a vintage drag car it wouldn't take much but if you wanted a full fendered rod then it's going to take a bit.
They are great looking cars! It's hard to see but has some of the wood been replaced? That's the biggest part of the project for these early 30's Chevys. If the wood is in good shape you can move forward from there but that is what I'd be looking at first. The wood in my 33 was shot and that was the most challenging part of my project. Had to replace it with steel.
Dont know if this helps but I paid $750 for this '36 5/W http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/threads/36-chevy-coupe-barn-find.873975/
What region are you in? Where you're located will be somewhat of a factor in price. A clear title is also a factor and a bonus in some states where it's a huge pain in the ass to get a non titled car cleared. Filled deck lid is a bummer. MII front end is an easier fix. Body looks solid in the old primer shot, though the red paint looks like it may be a quickie home shot.
I'm in N. Georgia and yes the deck lid is a bummer, it was welded shut when he bought the car they said and it didn't have a bit of rust on it anywhere. It's a paint job you'd expect from that era.
For me it would depend on what the story is with the deck lid. Is it an original lid tacked in place and bondo'd/leaded over? trunk opening cut out and a chunk of sheet metal welded in? also what they did to extend that tail panel area, and if that can be put back to stock also. I'd say 3-5k depending on these and the title question.
