  3. nah, that is the actual size of the car...

  4. Hahahaahaaa......

I tried to post the originals, but the limit here is 39kb, so I had to use a thumbnail program. What do I know? It's a test just to be able to switch my puter on.

This last weekend I finished the bodywork. Next stop, prep for paint and a complete rewire. I lowered it 2" all round, shaved the hood and trunk lid, removed the horrible heater off the firewall, welded in new front floor, new trunk floor and rear body panel between trunk lid and bumper, and welded new metal in the lower part of all four doors, plus front quarter panels. I installed a Smithy muffler and made up a tail-pipe, and painted and dressed up the flattie six. I've got a full set of wide whites waiting to go on too. Last night I put the seats back in, so now I can sit in it and go "brmmm, brmmm........" :D

    So what is it?

    241? 260? or Inline?

    Powerflite or stick?

    Belvy? Savoy? Plaza?

  8. Sorry Hyfire, it's a lowly old inline stick Savoy. Here in New Zealand we got next to no two door cars, all the ones here have been imported from US. Dont know why, prolly our gubments of the 40's thru 70's. It just occured to me, I do know why..... at that time you could only buy American cars here if you had overseas funds, and only farmers had them. Farmers did'nt want two door cars, they wanted to be able to throw a few bales of hay on the back seat, and they wanted Fords and Chevs and English Mark 1 Ford Zephyrs, hence my lowly old 55 Savoy mordor is quite a rarity here.

I like it because it's different! It's also one of the cooler designs Plymouth produced in the 50's. Good Luck! Post as you progress on this ride!
