Hahahaahaaa...... I tried to post the originals, but the limit here is 39kb, so I had to use a thumbnail program. What do I know? It's a test just to be able to switch my puter on. This last weekend I finished the bodywork. Next stop, prep for paint and a complete rewire. I lowered it 2" all round, shaved the hood and trunk lid, removed the horrible heater off the firewall, welded in new front floor, new trunk floor and rear body panel between trunk lid and bumper, and welded new metal in the lower part of all four doors, plus front quarter panels. I installed a Smithy muffler and made up a tail-pipe, and painted and dressed up the flattie six. I've got a full set of wide whites waiting to go on too. Last night I put the seats back in, so now I can sit in it and go "brmmm, brmmm........"
"you better get busy only about 9 days till Kumeu" Man! I'm gonna be busting *** to get to Beach Hop.....
Sorry Hyfire, it's a lowly old inline stick Savoy. Here in New Zealand we got next to no two door cars, all the ones here have been imported from US. Dont know why, prolly our gubments of the 40's thru 70's. It just occured to me, I do know why..... at that time you could only buy American cars here if you had overseas funds, and only farmers had them. Farmers did'nt want two door cars, they wanted to be able to throw a few bales of hay on the back seat, and they wanted Fords and Chevs and English Mark 1 Ford Zephyrs, hence my lowly old 55 Savoy mordor is quite a rarity here.
The Plymouth Six is rock solid. Should last forever. Very cool to see a '55 being done over seas... Good luck... Keep updating Adios! Hyfire
Hey Blueskies, I've been following your project through your website, and yours is anything but lowly! In fact yours is the reason I'm keeping the flattie six! My hero........
I like it because it's different! It's also one of the cooler designs Plymouth produced in the 50's. Good Luck! Post as you progress on this ride! ...I'm really glad my reputation has been added to; ...I need all the additions I can get!
lookin good my man! keep the six, she'll never do ya wrong. i'm heading back to the good life with kustomolds, see ya there! -otis
