I am trying to restore a Stroller for my Great Grandson,Excuse me if this is OT .I do not have any of the fenders and can't seem to buy any reasonable. I am asking if some one can come up with common item( like a oil filter for a Caterpillar or the antenna off the Space Shuttle) that I could mildly rework. Size is somewhat unknown as I don't have one to measure.Wheel is 6 inchs. Thanks
Yes, kitchen wares and bits of barbecues, but also look into exhaust fabrication suppliers...they make things like donuts and U's made of exhaust tubing to supply sections of curves that might well serve as the basis for a fender... You need to visualize your fender as a segment of some sheet metal object, with at least the compound section done and able to be supplemented with simple flat sections for the skits/brackets. Also look into the places that sell resto supplies for vintage pedal cars. They may have an actual fender in sizes like that.
Look at fenders for some of the retro scooters and the swoopy rear tricycle fenders for the art deco repop tricycles. I found this one for the Morgan scooter, but it shows out of stock. Perhaps you can locate someone that has them in stock. http://www.morgancycle.com/Morgan-Cycle-Replacement-Scooter-Fender-a-Set-of-2_p_44.html
Tricycle fenders and weld skirts in them? That is what I would try. Hit some antique or thrift stores.
