On my 41 ford coupe my passenger side doors whole rear edge sticks out about 3/8" The front gaps don't seem bad but the rear is . It doesn't close easy like the d/s which is perfect. Any ideas?

Looks like the door matches above the handle (bent door?). Maybe 2x4 just above the handle and push a little at the top and a lot at the lower rear corner.

Use a thick phone book it will not leave any marks, won't harm the paint. It conformed to the opening. Used it for years in the body shop.
We always said we were going to call the door up. It works on staging doors too. Frank

So wedge the 2x4 in the door above the handle and push down on the top? with my hands and then up on the bottom? I just want to get an idea what I'm trying to do before I do it wrong thanks

No! You place the phone book between the door and jamb just above the handle. Then push in toward the jamb at the lower corner (push hard, you have a sizable gap to close). Also push in at the top alittle as it will want to move out as you push the bottom in. After doing this check the fit and do it some more if it needs it.

I have heard of this phone book technique before. Haven't had the need to use it. Please let us know how it works out for you!

also remove the door latch on the post. Try bending the door and get as close as possible then install/ adj. the latch. saves a lot of latching/unlatching. also correct weatherstripping?

I'd be interested in seeing the results as well, my Merc coupe seems to had a rough life so far.
