    Hi Guy's,
See what followed me home this weekend. A 1964 Cadillac convertible, needs a lot of work but the price was right. Also picked up a 63 Coupe Deville today for a parts car, has rebuilt engine and a 64 front clip installed. Plan is to strip the 63 for its motor and front end and part out the rest.

Progress so far, engine and transmission are now installed in the convertible. Swapped the fenders off of the parts car and the front core support as it was in better condition. I'm waiting for the new starter motor to arrive and I'll then be able to fire up the motor. I also swapped the bumper off of the parts car. Still a way to go but it's getting there.

Most guys would still be talking about what they were going to do. What engine is it?

The '63 should be a 390, the '64 a 429. The '64 also was the first year for the TH400.
I've owned both years, and the 429/TH400 was much better than the 390 with its "dual-coupling" trans.

The original 429 was blown by previous owner and missing. The parts car I bought had a rebuilt 390 in it with a good transmission. I got the engine running the other night, only for a few seconds as I have to drop the tank yet and clean it out and run new fuel line. I still have all four floor pans to replace along with a couple of body mounts. Re painting it back to its original white. I'm looking for a replacement trunk lid as the one on the car is too far gone.
