I have a 1939 dodge 1.5 ton flatbed truck that I was building, I ran out of time and space. It is located in Oregon, we relocated to Las Vegas and need to drive it to a shop in late November for completion. It is being built to be tough. The rear axle was replaced with a Dana Spicer 19060, Cummins 5.9L motor has been mounted, triangulated rear suspension with 2.5" DOM tube .5" wall thickness lower links... I am looking to get the truck drivable for now. Some of the work includes the front Parallel 4-link suspension needs to be designed and installed, steering designed and installed using a hydro assist system, transmission mounted and floor pan modified along with part of firewall, the rear link mounts need to be completed... there is a fair amount of work left much of it is custom fabrication. Who would you suggest to get the truck finished to a drivable condition? I would prefer a shop in the Las Vegas Nevada area or around Portland Oregon. THANK YOU

Thank you for the reply, I am actually looking for a shop to perform the labor at this point... I know I initially wanted to do it all myself but I no longer have the space to complete this project. So is there a shop that you know of that could get the truck drivable for me?
I'd check out the website for Pacific Northwest Truck Museum, they are in Brooks, just north of Salem at Antique Powerland. They show quite a few links on their website. The museum has a restoration shop IIRC, they might also give you some leads.
You don't mention your budget concerns but in the Portland area Schroeder Speed and Custom has the finest craftsmen I have seen. Not cheap but off the hook talented. He built a roller frame for me last year and I will go back next time I need something.
Thank you for the referral Schroeder sounded great, he is booked up for a while so any other suggestions are appreciated.
SAR, of course. Possibly one of the most "wordily renowned" restoration shops. I have seen their shop, it is a different level than anything I have ever seen. Schroeder interned there if I am correct. I know many in the area, I will give it some thought.
No, Billy, he didn`t `intern` there. He had his first set of skills honed at Harold Ketch`s shop in Clackamas, and then worked for Steve before a stint at Chip Fooses. I`ve known him a long time. If you want to PM errr Conversation me, `39 Dodge, I have a guy in mind who is a talented fabricator, builder of Rock Crawlers and Diesel stuff. I would take it on for you, but the truck won`t actually fit in my Shop!! Also, I am buried for the next six months at least.....
My bad Kiwi. I remembering him telling me one day that he worked with Steve at some point. Darrel is a hell of builder and a nice guy.
Sent Yes and I have been talking with them, what is their quality like? Is it hit and miss depending on who is locked up at the time? I have not received any estimate from them yet, so any thoughts are appreciated.
