I have three full days in LA are Nov 12, 13 and 14. Any suggestions of coolest car places to visit/ shows to attend during that time? I havn't been to anything in the area since I'm 1750 miles away I saw the listings on SoCalCarCulture and CaliforniaCarShows websites. I'm guessing the Nov 14 El Mirage Races and Ponoma drags would be good? Also not sure which "famous shops" like having visitors, etc. Also, where do I find Chip Foose for an autograph? hahaha. Thanks for your help!
On your very last day, Saturday November 14th, get up REALLY EARLY and go to the FREE Donut Derelicts Car Show in Huntington Beach from 5:30am to 8:30am. About 250 vintage cars and trucks show up every Saturday morning. This is the best FREE car show on the West coast. The intersection is Adams and Magnolia in Huntington Beach, CA. Trust me, this is worth getting up early to see.
Just checked out the site, looks like a sweet show. I'll need to bring down some maple syrup and Canadian so-cal shirts for some hamb guys! Haha
Old Crow Speed Shop in Burbank in a must see, Hollywood Hot Rods is just two doors down the street. Bob
thank guys! yeah, those are some amazing shops, just not sure if everyone likes visitors getting in the way of work, haha
If the Winternationals are held at Pomona , i would go!!!!! Went there in '98 and it was unbelievable
If you have never been to an NHRA national event, the NHRA World Finals will be at the historic Pomona Raceway (now Auto Club Raceway). Tickets are cheap on Thursday, but no Top Fuel. But lots of sportsman action. Tickets are way more expensive on Friday. On the 14th, there is the Aces Poker Run. Lots of HAMB-friendly cars there --> http://acescarclub.com/pokerrun2015/index.htm
The "CaliforniaCarShows" website says it is the Winternationals, but they are wrong. The Winternationals are held in February at the same track. The race coming up Nov. 12-15 is the NHRA Auto Club Finals.
A great museum that is open is the Automobile Driving Museum in the city of El Segundo, about 1-mile South of the LA Airport. Don't be put of by the drab brick facade, this is a great museum that is a non-profit facility, and admission is your donation at the door.
