I have a 59 chevy bel air with a 235 engine. I want to install an alternator, but I have a generator with the power assist attached to it. What can I do? Any suggestions?

The generator has worked for over 50 years so why change it?
If you must then you could make a mounting bracket for the alternator and use the Saginaw pump from a later Chevy I6. Go down to the local salvage yards and lift a few hoods and see if they have a car or truck you can get the complete setup from.
