Fatabone and I went to the junkyard yesterday. I think we did OK. Maybe not as good as the $100 Hemi with maual tranny that he got last week, but we did fill his van with cool stuff. When I say filled the van we filled it:D

The bulk of our stash was headlights. About a dozen of them. I even got a match for the dietz light I have with the signal on top.

We also scored a 39 axle with spindles, a 9' posi center section, a 39 Ford grill, a 40 front fender, a top for a 58 Chevy covertable, a porta power, some carbs and a whole lot more. We filled several boxes with small stuff.

One of my favorite things is a pair of EElco gauges.

We've gone to this place a couple of times and each time he charged us about $300. This time he tried to hit us up for $800. I think he saw the shock in my eyes and came down to $600 quickly. Of coarse we only had $545 on us so that what we got it for.

Any clue as to what this tool is for? I'm guessing its part of a frontend alignment tool.

It's a camber guage. I have an identical model, no idea how old is it, what it's worth or anything like that, just thought it looked cool.

  9. Is that part of what they call a "scuff" gauge?

Dont ya hate it when you go junk yarding and you get all those treasures, and have to dread taking them up to the man to find out how much your stash is going to cost. I found one yard hidden way out in the middle of nowhere, got 3 Hemi's, a windshield, couple of hood ornaments and some original rims. I thought I was going to have to get a loan. Turns out he was a very cool old guy and he must have liked us, charged me $150.00 I about passed out. I am going again this summer before everything gets scraped out.

  11. No, the scuff gauge we had was a drive over unit. It measured the slip of the tires in feet per ? (I forget, it was 15 years ago) as it drives. It was an old "bear" unit.

  12. Is the Wico unit a magneto?
