Just got back from the CHRR and had another great time. I had the altered on display in the grove again and it was the stimulus for many conversations with those who watched or raced against my dad. I am closing in on having it ready for the Cacklefest. This year's event was another huge success.

Cacklefest - including outside the Double Tree Hotel on Friday night (which is where the pic was taken)

Yeah I looked for BangShifts platform but it was not there. I checked their website this morning and they say they talked with Bowser and they will be back. It was NHRA that did not let them broadcast. It looked to me their attendance was down a bit this year but it was great racing.

  8. So, if you pay to get your car in the grounds as in past yrs, where would you park if not in the Grove?

They never charged extra for the car, as long as everybody in it had paid the admission. I always thought they wanted them to add to "the show". Must be another case of them being "too successful".

  11. Not quite true - the car never went upside down, only on it's side a bit. You can clearly see here it never touched the roof

We went and looked at this car after the crash and it was in surprisingly good condition . The only mark on the drivers side that slid down the track was a small amount of the fiberglass was ground off of the drip rail area . The doors didn't have a scratch and opened and closed perfect , even the door gaps were good ! As for the frame , it looks as though the major damage was limited to the front frame horns . All in all not bad considering how dramatic the crash looked at the time .
