Just wanted to come on here and tell everyone that I got a 1955 Nash Metropolitan this weekend. Everything is there, even the motor. Im gonna try and start the motor and see if it runs. But eventually its goin to get a chevy v6 or v8. All thats aways down the road but it should be fun! Are there any guys/girls that have a metro? Im looking for a repair manual so i can start learning about this thing!
You'll probably have a lot more luck here: http://pub48.bravenet.com/forum/4083188064 or www.nash-car.com Come on back when you build a traditional hot rod. JH
So you mean to tell me that you are that narrow minded that if I dont have a "traditional" hot rod I dont belong here? I thought you guys liked anything that was old and custom? All I have been getting from this message board is HATE. WTF is up with that? Arent we all here for the same things? Custom Old Cars? Maybe im wrong
Wasn't entirely meant to be rude, but the other board could probably be more helpful. Always feel free to add your progress, but don't expect everybody to switch from TRADITIONAL rods and customs because YOU got a new project.
That would cover A LOT of things- and that answer would be NO- not just "anything that was old and custom".
Narrow minded? Not at all. Hell, I even had a Metropolitan once - and actually thought it was cool. Still do. I love early Volkswagens but don't talk about them here. A lot of us do like most "anything old that is custom" - provided that it is built with true craftsmanship & taste BUT if you think "anything old that is custom" belongs here you're sadly mistaken. Hugs - JH
Haters? Not always. Sometimes its all about the love. I just gotta share my Nash Metro story from a few years back. In May, 1980, I was hired along with a bunch of tech theatre guys that I went to college with to work on the set of one of these made for TV romantic comedy movies, set in the North Carolina mountains. About the time we started to work on location, a young, artistic fellow named Randy shows up to work as the assistant to the set decorator, driving this spiffy bone stock red and white Nash Metro. A few days later, after work, we're shooting the bull with some of the frat brothers that they hired to lug equipment on location. One of the frat brothers spots Randy driving by in the Metro, and asks "What's his position with this company?" One of the guys that I went to school with didn't miss a beat; "His position? Face down!" Ahem, not that there's anything wrong with that, of course!
What plans do you have for it? And some stuff just isn't really accepted by Hambers. I'm a minitrucker but don't discuss it here.
Time 1, there are shitloads of boards that are only to happy to welcome you with open arms. This one is intended to be for the use of people who love traditional rods and customs, and the simple matter is that a Metropolitan is not traditional. Dont get me wrong, I think they are pretty cool, this is just not the right place for it. BTW; check out www.beachhop.co.nz They had a metallic gold flake Metro as an official Hop car built for the 2005 Beach Hop.
also building a v8 57 met "also a couple of traditoinal hot rods ford and chevy hows the progress on the met?
