Not me, must be another Caddy Chris. I have a 52 sedan with mild bodywork and a 472/T400. Haven't sectioned anything... yet.

Hey Dean, Here are those pictures I promised in an email. Figured it was easier to post them here from home. Here is that Magspark ignition conversion I have. I also took a picture of the description in my 1962 Mallory catalog. All the parts are there including the screws. There are even 2 of the "Packed By 45" tags in the box. Pretty cool for a Caddy nut, that is why I have it I guess. Let me know if you can use it. The kit: The box: Points and condensor(br*** is split, but inside looks fine): And the catalog description: Send me an email and let me know. Any word on the Mallory??? You can't tell that I really want one of those can you? Brock
well this is a little off but its a cad question. i was running a stock dual quad manifold and couldnt get the kick down in the right place to save my life on the old hyrdomatic i spent about a week and every possible idea i could have ever came up with and i could get that ****er to shift right any guys run into any problems like this with out that special elderado kickdown linkage that they made like 4 of haha any help or tips are appreciated .. thanks tom
I don't have a magspark (what's a magspark?) but I have a NOS Mallory dual point conversion kit, packed by #16, complete with the original receipt from North Side Auto Supply- Wholesale & retail speed equiptment 2/4/1960. I get such a kick out of the packaging and paperwork and all the history of this old stuff. But the best part is gonna be actually using brand new 40+ year old stuff on my car. 'Cause as cool as the old stuff is, if it's not being used, what good is it?
Oh my ****in god! That engines givin me a mini woodro downstairs!!! I have a '49 Motor to go in my steel '32 3 window and it close to fire up! For now it has an Edmunds 2x2, NOS Mallory Magspark ZCM, Neilson Cam...etc Ill do some pics when I get round to it?! Does any one know where I can get some original 'Weiand' valve covers for cad??? Oh Brock that kit you have....is it for dual point? Later, Dean. ps. Anyone got a spare Edmunds finned oil pan lying around I can buy????!!!!!!
....Just found out that the 'Pribble' valve covers and pro made steel 6x2 manifold came off an old drag car in Boise Idaho....the quest continues.
Peddro....I need that, see how lonley all my other stuff is without it?!? Sure you don't want to sell it.... Brock
Dean, That kit is to convert a magspark single point dist. over to dual point I believe. When I bought it I thought that it as a Mallory dual point conversion for a stock dist....I didn't even notice that the box said "Magspark" Hell its Caddy stuff, got to buy it. I have heard of the Weiands but never seen a set. Probably harder to find than the Hildebrandts and Edmunds. Brock
[ QUOTE ] well this is a little off but its a cad question. i was running a stock dual quad manifold and couldnt get the kick down in the right place to save my life on the old hyrdomatic i spent about a week and every possible idea i could have ever came up with.... [/ QUOTE ] I'm running the same intake on my 331 in an 'A' roadster. Ended up making a longer throttle valve lever to attach to the carb. throttle lever for the upper end. (Kind of like the Eldo set-up) Then shortened the throttle valve lever on the Hydro, followed by lots of playing around. Finally got it working OK. Right now I've got the throttle pressure valve wide open at about 1/4 throttle. But since the Hydro in mine is an old remanufacture and seems to be a Heinz 57 mix of parts, I don't know if this setting would hold true for another ******. These trans like lots of throttle pressure, real soon, and in a light car with dual quads and straight linkage it doesn't take much throttle opening to get under way. So the tendency is for the trans to up-shift too soon without some modifications to the linkage.
Any new information on those Pribble Valve covers? I just picked up a set... someone butchered them to put breathers in the center... but they've still got the P and The E on the end. Kidrocker, got any pictures of the rail with your covers and intake on it?
Anybody got any Cadillac 429 speed parts, or am I barking up the wrong tree? The only thing I've ever foound was some headers and an aluminum flywheel. ~Jason
Looks like there is is a pair on that Westergard Cadillac that was just restored and at the top of the page on the Jalopy Journal.
