I'm getting ready to install a 302 with a aod trans in my 46 ford truck. I'm using a SIDS drop axle with posie springs and yes I can wing it but if anybody has done it before I would like guidance on how to do it. I also thought about removing the trans mount cross member and boxing the frame and making a new bolt in cross member. Is this a good idea or should I leave it?

My avatar 46 truck has a 302 ford in it..I moved the radiator support forward to the front set of holes( I presume there were two hole sets for v8 and. I6) and after removing the bolt in trans mount from center crossmember I cut an aproximately 10 inch wide "u" in the top web of the crossmember and welded a Chanel in, bolt holes in bottom for trans mount and built side mounts from frame to 302 motor mounts.....pm me, I can email photos if you want....
