History 60's era engine limiters

  1. I think that the early FX cars were supposed to run stock motor mounts. It was a lot like a souped up stock cl***.

I can't do***ent or at least I am not willing to but I have always thought that it was the forerunner to Super Stock.

No, I think Super Stock came first, or at least, they came at the same time. I want to say '62, but it could have been '61??

Just checked FX came into existence in '62. SS had already been around for a couple years at that point.

Super Stock DID come first. It was going strong when Richard Guess, ('Chief Goodie', Goodies Speed Shop tore into his wife Toni's Chevy ll for the over-the-counter 327 kit to go 'Factory Experimental'.
Jungle Jim Lieberman begged for the ride. And got it! (these were the pre-'Brutus' days)
Pretty sure that ***embly went down in 1962.
Famous cl***ic Midget owner/racer Ron Dunn was Courtesy Chevrolet's Service Manager then...
Footnote: George beat me to it... but how was this for..."The REST of the Story"
